Shape Match

Pupils see one shape named at the top and pick the matching shape from three big choices. A calm voice reads each instruction. Wrong choices fade gently; there is no buzzer and no timer.

For EYFS–KS2. About 8 minutes. Number & thinking. Low sensory, no reading needed, works without sound.

What pupils practise

• Recognise circle, square, triangle and star
• Match by shape, ignoring colour
• Make a choice and wait for feedback

Tips for teachers

• Play one round yourself while pupils watch.
• Hold up a real object of the same shape.
• Start with 3 rounds and sound off for noise-sensitive pupils.
